Swiss Student Visa Requirements

Hello Folks!!

I hope you all are doing great.

I’ve been accepted in HSLU LUZERNE as a Master student.

I come from a south asian country and I’m living in Istanbul, Turkey. I have legal residence permit in Turkey.

1 : As a south asian in turkey. What can be the possible requirements for obtaining a swiss student visa?

2: What are some suggestions to make student visa application strong?

3 : How to show them financial proof? Are my bank statements are enough?

P S : I have been to Switzerland once and Once to Germany, I had 2 schengen visas before.

Info’s on all on the university’s website.

As for financial proof you need to show bank statements from either a Swiss bank or a bank that has a branch in Switzerland.

Hi,

Thank you for rapid reply,

I had already seen those requirements.

The question is how much amount should i show in my bank statement?

enough to survive (pay rent/fees/eat) for the duration of your studies. I assume then 2000-3000 per month.

It’s usually between CHF20,000 and CHF25,000, but check the exact amount with either the university (why they can’t put it on their website I don’t know) or the cantonal migration office.

Hi,

Thank you for rapid reply.

2000 to 3000 per month. (3000 * 24 = 72,000)

You mean 72,000 for two whole years.

Thats too much. I can’t show this much amount.

I have paid fees and accommodation everything in advance for one year.

So how much do i need to show in order to get visa?

Thank you once again, Since I’m a student and I have a bank which has a branch in Switzerland.

If i take about 20,000 from my family and deposit it in my account once, is it a problem or its fine?

Wouldn’t pay for accommodation until you have confirmation you’ll get a permit because it could be refused. As said, between CHF20,000 and CHF25,000 for the year. You don’t need to show more than that initially, but would have to prove it again when renewing the permit for another year of study. ETHZ lays it out better.

Again, check with the uni or the cantonal migration office on exactly how much they want to see in your bank account.

Hi,

Thank you for rapid reply,

What are some of the alternatives in order to get the home contract for visa purposes?

Embassy has asked me provide the bank statement plus house contract.

If you paid for accomodations, that should fulfill the Embassy's requirements, no?

If not, perhaps you can find short-term accomodations (the uni website/airbnb) just to prove you have an address for the first few months.
