Swiss TV without cable?

Hi everyone

I was wondering if Swiss TV stations still do over-the-air broadcasting, or do you have to have a cable subscription in order to view?

I have a digital TV that I brought with me and just tried using a little cheap indoor antenna attached to it but am not picking up any anything. Just wondering if the antenna is the issue, or if it is that there's nothing to tune in to on VHF/UHF? (central Lausanne area)

Many thanks

Swiss TV has been digital for a number of years. Over air you should be able to get the SRF channels - prolly 6 in all. They are not very inspiring for your Billag fee...

Normally in apartment maintenance fee there is a cable fee which give you a basic internet and tv.

It would seem to be an obvious question, but have you made a new installation and searched all the frequencies with your feeble antenna?

Swiss channels are the ones we watch the most. By far the best for MotoGP and F1.

do you know zattoo? type it in EF search or Google. you will find all channels

You need a DVB-T receiver, AFAIK.

There's no analog TV anymore.

Most of the content you can get on http://www.srf.ch and via itunes/youtube, though.

And (most of) the rest can be downloaded via bit torrent and viewed at your leisure - no need to succumb to air-times set by someone else in his office.

yeah in most of europe it's digital terrestrial now not analogic.

With IPTV nowadays you can watch 7 days in playback if you want. The difference between TV and computer has become very small, I think that in 10 years there will be no difference at all.
