Sunshine on Leith is something to sing about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iesps9w4HFw&list=RDIesps9w4HFw&start_radio=1

I wish I could share your enthusiasm. It started with lovely sunshine but 20°C seems to be all we’re gonna get (not good enough for me, so long sleaves and socks!) and the last hour it started to clowd over but the sun is still fighting, trying to get through.

When I look at the local weather forecast it’s cloudy all day until dark and we’re actually only supposed to have 17°C right now, so HEY, I’m lucky.

We have 18° right now and it’s breezy so it feels colder.
I don’t like it to hot but this is ridiculous summer weather.

26° along La Côte atm.

24°C and the sun still competing with the clouds, getting some friendly beams past them steadily. Good girl.
A spider settled in front of one of the balcony doors so I now tease flies with keeping it open and I hope she has a good day catching them. So far all peaceful in here.

Here we go again.

Both GE and VD have issued heat warnings on AlertSuisse.

And the lower bits of VS.

Yup, I’m laying out my mist system to get ready for the next few days.

What a wonderful, wonderful day!

This up and down is crazy, early this morning it was FREEZING in this flat, worse than winter.
Nothing but joy now imo.

26.2 in my room and it’s on the shady side of the house.

People - be careful in the heat.

The heavy garden jobs can wait.

If you need/want to take exercise etc outside then do it early in the morning whilst it is still relatively cool.

The forecast suggests we have one more evening of below 20° temperatures then some days of tropical nights.

I’m going to open the house to the great outdoors tonight, then lock it down securely until the temperatures show some more sense.

I’m dreading the coming heat wave.

We are still drying the house out after a pipe leak, and now have infrared heaters attached to the walls, blasting 24/7, in half the house. It’s well over 40 degrees in those rooms. I’ve tried to seal the drying rooms off from the rest, but the heat still creeps into the usable areas. Also, closing off the drying rooms means no cross breeze is possible.

It’s a frickin inferno here already - and the heatwave has yet to begin!

The weather report was saying something about over 40 degrees.
Speaking of climate change, central Spain and south of France Are set to become the First Areas in Europe to become uninhabital.

I went to Aarau on the bike around 18h00. A bit below 30°C. Pure bliss on the bicycle.

40°C is not inhabitable, lager beer tastes awesome

Yes, it’s pretty much destroyed a big part of the Languedoc-Roussillon vines, from Carcassonne almost to the Med.

Ahhh Carcasona! Crémant de Limoux is an excelent sparkling wine for really hot days.

A bit hard to drink other sparkling wines during 30+ °C days and directly under the sun. But, put Crémant de Limoux on an ice bucket and drink as beer.
