Not to sure where I got this from. The media.
For me, the idea of a good wife, husband or partner is simply that one is a good person and treats the rest of the family with kindness and respect. Some couples favor traditional roles and others make different arrangements. Whatever you do, just be a good human.

Anything that works for people is fine in my book. I’ve been with my OH for 41 years now (40th anniversary next year) and we’ve always done things in the home as a partnership, even work was a partnership when we had a business for 10 years. He was also my full time carer for the 2 years I had cancer. What’s his is mine and vice versa.

These sweeping generalisations just don’t work
I doubt there is any similarity in personality between a VP of a Swiss bank and a farm worker in inner Schwyz.
