Another favourite spot of mine is Steine Grill at Steinentorstrasse 26( Heuwagge tram stop, right accross the street). Excellent wraps, gyros and pizza.
I belive there are no Take Aways in the german speking part of switzerland which are worth to mention. Also most restaurants serve food which is lower quality than average.
The kebab shop in the underpass near Heuwage has a real charcoal grill (as opposed to an electric one) and the kebabs cooking on it looked really good although I hadn't been to the pub so felt it was wrong to go in...
BTW, still shocked to see people shooting up openly by the Birsig there!

Maybe we should make a new thread which would be easy dinners, faster than a take out, say 20 minutes. Risotto is right there and i am sure WalterG from Zurich will have some top ideas as well
for take-away, they give you a lot of food for the buck, and it's pretty good. i like the bai kapao.
Pizzas are fine, I can't say I've tried the Kebabs though.
Otherwise near the Kirche stop on the tram number 6 is a new takeaway place, as yet unvisited by me.
Dominos Pizza and a decent Chinese (in Hegenheim) are 5 minutes drive from the main crossing in Allschwil
You can try the same menu at lunch-times in Pflugässlein, off Freiestrasse, by the Thalia entrance.
Took the family to Ginza , its in Lörrach and I'll be back.
You have choice of all-you-can-eat or a-la-carte. The all you can eat is just brilliant in quality and selection and price.
Took the family of 5 there last night and it was just under 50 EUR.
The Teppenyaki is not the situation where you are sitting directly in front of the chef (what I am used to anyway). You go and select all of you own ingredients, VERY fresh meat & veg, and the chef will whip it up for you & bring it to the table.
Also, they are open for lunch and dinner, 7 days a week.
Also also, the kids got given a little toy on the way out so they are busting to go back (the mcdonalds happy meal affect)
