Taking a UK Pension when living in Switzerland

I am having a problem finding a company that will pay me a pension from my UK pension pot. Most annuity company’s will not quote if you live in Switzerland. Has anyone recently found a company that will use a UK pension fund to pay a regular pension to someone living in Switzerland?

Why not accept the pension directly from the pension providers without going via a middleman?

Would said middleman pay to a Revolut account? Revolut is UK based and would receive the pounds and you could make payments in CHF, etc.

Hi Bowlie, Unfortunately pension firms like Reassure will not offer a pension directly. They suggest to go to another company LV= for an annuity, and that company will not provide this if you don’t live in the UK. I also talked to moneyhelper and they say you can do nothing except contact all the providers to see if any will offer this for non-UK residents.

Can you move the money here and buy back years in your Swiss pensions, if you have any.

Otherwise buy an annuity here.

In the end, the best solution for me seemed to be to transfer the pension to a Swiss QROPS “Independent Foundation” so that I can take the pension under the Swiss pension options and tax.

Sounds good

HMRC only lists two, one does have advice about qrops

They claim to be registered with the Central Swiss BVG and
Foundation Supervision Authority (ZBSA) but I did not find how to confirm that on the ZBSA web site

Deal with them direct, no need to pay an intermediary

Neither of the two are registered with Finma, maybe ZBSA registration is enough, I don’t know

They are a registered QROPS in the UK, the only one in Swizerland
