Does anybody have any good suggestions where is a good tax agent to fill out a tax declaration? Max cost has to be around 150CHF for married couple.
It is very easy to do it yourself online
It depends on whether you speak German, as thats the language of the forms and all follow-up communication. For that reason, I use a Treuhand, since they handle these filings routinely, with accuracy, and are comfortable dealing directly with the authorities. In some cases, they can also identify tax savings you might not have considered.
For a few hundred francs, the added certainty and peace of mind make it worthwhile for me but as always YMMV.
Could even ask the cantonal tax office if someone could help you fill it out. Our tax office here in Fribourg runs several evening sessions in various towns/cities so people can ask questions of them.
Give your tax office a call/e-mail and see if theyâd be willing to meet with you to go over the form and help you fill it out.

âpeace of mindâ
I used to use a Treuhand but they made a repeated error for years and I had pay a five figure back tax, luckily no fine.
I tried to get some compensation but a lawyer told me as soon as I had signed the tax form I took over the reponsibility.
Kassensturz did a test of Treuhnaders and found most of them made many errors.
Of course, you get what you pay for.
I guess if your affairs are simple and youâre in the same role for years, you could just copy paste from your last tax return.
If the numbers havenât changed since the last year they can be imported automatically. You just have to press one button to confirm the old number. No need to copy and paste.
Honestly the Zurich tax software is not so much user friendly. I wonder if any AI can help filling it though.
The problem with it I had was that it didnât give me any contextual help. There was a help button but it was really vague. In practice you have to know how the tax works, what is to be taxed, what can you deduct etc, only then you can manage to put it through the web. My declaration was accepted without any fuss, so I managed well ![]()
This is probably your least expensive bet for CH.
How wrong you are!! These people extort the money out of elderly people. Used it last year and it cost 375CHF for filling out my tax return. It took them 35 minutes to do! You call that ethical! There are many other places where I can do it for half the cost.
Such as? That was the original question.
I have found many places with the Google search. At first I used such places and they did a good tax return. Unfortunately I thought Pro Senectute would do a good tax return at a fair price. But they charge a commission on the total value of the estate. The thieves they are!
Then you answered your own question.
They seem transparent with the costs and even have a cost calculator to make an estimate on it. But am happy for you if you can find something cheaper.
If your affairs are similar to last year then you can copy the last form and just change the numbers
If you donât have last years then you can ask your Gemeinde for a copy
Was wondering if we recieve âStaats- und Gemeindesteuern 2024
Schlussrechnung
aufgrund EinschĂ€tzungsentscheidâ with 0 chf pending, does it mean 2024 tax is âdone and dustedâ? I received it last July and was a bit surprised. Because 2022, 2023 ones took so many years to complete. Actually I received Schlussrechnung for all those years in 2025. For 2020 and 2021 it took 4 years (but thatâs because I had B permit until the mid 2021)âŠ
Unless they discover all your mistakes
Have it ever happened? like a random review of a closed case, or something?
IIRC, even if something is miss-declared the corrections concerns only the last 10 years
From what I understand, once the âschlussrechnungâ has been issued, itâs like etched in stone. There are very little âoptionsâ to review or go back on the issued âschlussrechnungâ (legal basis). I speak from some experience ⊠i could be wrong âŠ
If I am earning money (rental) on a property in Australia, then is it added onto the income in CH and taxed accordingly? From what I understand Australia has a tax agreement so that income in Australia is not taxed here and in Australia.
