I've been buying a basket of stocks every month: this would result in many 10s of entries in the tax return, for each purchase.
What seems to matter for tax is your balance at 31/12, not your purchase price. eg. for wealth tax
Does anyone here just write the total number of shares owned eg. 1 entry for each stock, rather than 12 for each stock? I cant imagine it would make much difference for the tax office.
Beside total balance, the tax office cares also about the dividends you received. And also (more of a theoretical thing): they might need to see your trades to determine if you shall be classified as a professional investor.
On top of that you also might file the DA-1 for US dividend refund.
But back to your point: I actually list all trades gladly: I don't have too many, ictax already has my instruments so it is quick and I like the extra check of "everything sums up nicely". But I know from multiple people who simply declare the total balance (not even 1 per asset, just 1 number total), the total dividends received, attach the detailed documents from the broker so the tax office can look at the list if they want - and never had issues with it. So if listing everything takes too much time - go with the total and see what happens (worst case they'll ask you to list them)
I had declared all together for a custody account I used to have that was managed by a robo-advisor and just attached all the papers I got from the custodian bank, it was accepted.
However now that I do it myself I list all trades one by one, it's an enjoyable exercise with the eTax software. But I don't have many entries, I prefer to invest a few times per year rather than every month.
