Techmania.ch

Has anyone bought from Techmania.ch? They seem to have the lowest prices according to toppreise.ch But I'm a little confused about how they operate. I searched their site for a replacemnt battery for a Nokia and the seach returned 3 results for the same product with 3 different prices (search for "Nokia BL-5F" and see what I mean)

http://www.techmania.ch/search.aspx?suche=bl%205f

I get 3 prices of 36, 46 and 48 CHF. Why would I pay 48 CHF for the same product as for 36CHF?

Do they get different products from different distributers, or something like that?

Sounds like you should direct your business somewhere else...

No I dont sell phone batteries...

Techmania is definitely the least favorite of the online shops I have bought from. They always seem to have very low prices on toppreise.ch but shipping costs, credit card commission etc. are very high and things end up more expensive than at other places. They also charge you quite a lot if you want your stuff shipped quickly (otherwise they'll just ignore your order for a couple of days, or so it seems).

When I added everything to my shoping cart and went to checkout, I was also suprised by the high shipping cost (18 CHF). The 3% or whatever surcharge for credit-card payment I also don't like, but seems most .ch based sellers do that also. But then Techmania added a randon 6CHF for an "out of country" item (??). So when I added up shipping, credit card and other surcharge it was already +30 CHF . So I deleted my order

I think I'll stick with a few ones I've ordered from before who seem more trustworthy/reliable, like netto24.ch and internet.ch, and Steg is also good for local pick-ups altho their selection can be weak sometimes.

Digitec is not bad, and they ship for Free, or you can pickup in Zurich. If you do want to pickup, then order online for pickup then the wait is less but still can be very busy.

One probelm with the Free shipping is you end up with the goods left at your place as they do NOT need to be signed for. Had ipods and other things just sitting on my doorstep when I came home.

Another good place (based in Germany) is Misco, no credit card surcharge and price prices often come out cheaper than CH even with tax added on. Digitec is the best for people who live in Zurich though, the shop is convenient to get to and the customer service is great.

Dont forget anything over Fr. 95.00 has duty taxes.

What a minute, you're the Elmo fan... what do you know???

Elmo can at least read!

But can he write write correctly???

I bought from Misco.ch before, and their prices include all taxes. And their shipping is reasonable (10 CHF or whatever).

However returning the product to them was a major headache. They have a shipping/storage location in Switzerland, but seems they don't coordinate too good with their German offices, because it took over a month and several phone calls until I got the refund applied

I can fully recommend brack.ch and digitec.ch .

If the price isn't too far off from the best price on toppreise.ch, I would suggest you save yourself the hassle and order from an established and reliable store.

I can pretty much go for that. I tend not to always go for the cheapest price on toppreise I had one outfit that took 4 months to sort my order out. If I see digitec near to the price I go for them, outstanding service so far.
