Hi,
I have moved a while back from London & also spent some time living in Berlin.
When I first moved to Geneva, I really thought it was the end of my techno ride. However, to my surprise, Geneva actually has really great techno legends who mainly come from Detroit to play (normally in l'Usine).
I just wanted to ask if there are any other people who love this genre of music; techno, house (70s/80s/90s) who are working & living around Geneva?
It would be really cool to meet you. I am also able to speak in French, its no matter.
I couldn't find any groups or anything online so I'm looking forward in getting some replies.
It ́s stretching it to call it "music" annoying noise more like it.
Having said that St. Pauls (Malta) is again hosting Lost and found, one of the largest Techno parties in Europe this April. Always good fun to sit outside at travellers pub and watch half naked teenage girls flaunt their stuff.
Sure, some may call it that. It depends how much you dig into it, just like with every other type of music I guess. How many times have you heard the moonlight sonata? Or heard sexual healing in movies? It gets boring after a while.
I'm not really into festivals & was more wondering if theres people in Geneva who are interested in the same type of music as there are many artists who come from Detroit to play here. It is quite a small scene & therefore wanted to reach out through englishforum.ch as I thought it might be a good idea.
However when I get an answer which calls something I enjoy "annoying" & directs me to festivals in Malta, I guess I am aiming a bit too high.
There is a Techno scene in Zürich, I know that Tosca is playing tonight at Kaufleuten. Would be great, but I have to look after the kiddo tonight.
I know, I am lumping Techno and D&B and Electronica sort of together
Back in the day I went to a lot of Spiral Tribe parties in London, some of my mates were part of the crew.
Lol, I live on Malta right next to the event as a matter of fact, so you like I just godda roll with it.
Different scene I know- but if you also enjoy 'alternative' rock- look up my young mates both in GVA area and Haute-Savoie (couple of them are students of mine).
Down to the Bunker.

Are Slammer and Odile competing for the most epically off topic post of the day award?
I have a friend in Geneva who is into most forms of electronica. I'll direct him towards the thread.
Thanks for directing your friend.
Well, a plug for great young people never hurts and some people have varied music taste
