I use Snagit at work and also privately, but only needed an upgrade every 4-5 years or so. Now they are going subsciption, at its 39chf per year. 
Anyone know good alternatives?
Assume you are using Windows, in which case the MS Snipping Tool is part of the OS. Otherwise, you can also try Greenshot, which is my favorite https://getgreenshot.org/

Will probably try ShareX next. But I’ve still got a perpetual licence for Snagit, just won’t get updates. The existing functionality should be enough for me.
