Temporary accomodation - registration with C permit

Hi everyone, I am EU person with a C permit, living in Bern, and soon plan to move to US as an expat (Swiss company, still have unlimited Swiss contract that will turn to expat the day I leave the country), will have my C permit "frozen" etc.

Unfortunately due to a renovation me and my wife can't stay in the same appartment until we leave (1, maybe 2 months), but our stuff will be packed by the relocation company, so we just need a temporary furnished accomodation for 1, max 2 months.

Now since I have to move out anyway and live somewhere temporarily, we thought about "trying out" places where we might want to live when we move back (Pfaffikon SZ, Zug...), I also work 100% homeoffice now so don't care where it is...

Is it a problem to register at the gemeinde (SZ, ZG, ZH in particular) with 1 month rental contract (e.g. UMS) when one has a C-permit? I know they are a bit picky with newcommers to CH, but I hope it's a bit easier when one is a local... But I don't want to end up in a situation that I am "homeless" (I have to de-register here)

As far as I know, you have to deregister from your old place and register at your new place with 14 days of moving.

Just ask Gemeinde what you should do.

Thanks, of course I know I have to do this I plan to do it electronically anyway... But I was wondering if someone has first hand experience with this, when you are already a "local" and still need to register for 1-2 months only
