temporary apartment - suggestions needed [Zurich]

Hi all,

I am a 29 years old electronics engineer. I will start working in Zurich Area in June 1st. Me and my girlfriend are moving last week of may . We are looking for a place to stay temporally (1 or 2 months) while we find something permanent. Any suggestions?

Thank you very much in advance, it is a wonderful forum with a lot of information.

Hugo.

Hi Yander,

When I was moving my company put me in touch with Touchdown Relocation Services touchdown relocation services and they arranged for me a perfect temporary apartment. I am not sure how much they cost as my company paid to them but they are good and reliable.

Have a smooth move!!

The Indians I work with are paying up to sFr. 2500.- a month for a small furnished "temp" apartment. I would look into booking a Hotel room for a month, while you find that perfect apartment (and then go shopping in Ikea).

Google for "immobilien" or "mieten" in "schweiz", to find the rental agencies.

hiya -

I moved at short notice, so I didn't have too much time to look around, but this is a good place to start:

If you can't dig up anything else, Apartments Swiss Star in Oerlikon can generally come up with something, but 2 months there might have you climbing the walls!

good luck... :-)

Try

City Appartements AG, Zürich möblierte Wohnungen mit Service

They rent out serviced -furnished apartments all over Zurich ranging from 1 room bed-sits to 3 bedroom family apartments.

No affiliation with them other than having just spent 2 months in 1 of their places.

I also spent 2 months in one of their apartments this year and thought it was a good starting point in Zurich. It is a bit rich, but an easy place to start.

We were in contact with them and were told that we should contact them 2 weeks before arrival...

it's mostly in German, but you might try http://www.marktplatz.unizh.ch

It's an Internet market place catering to - but not limited to - students, and they tend to have a lot of temporary accomodation.

Thank your very much for your help!!

This is a great forum!!
