The 3D Printing Thread Part Deux

As I am now the proud owner of a new 3D printer and the old thread was closed and located in the complaints section for reasons I cannot logically fathom https://www.englishforum.ch/complain…ng-thread.html , I wanted to create a new thread.

A few weeks ago I received my first ever 3D printer, a Bambu Labs P1P FDM (filament) printer which is a fast CoreXY design from a relatively new company that is taking the market by storm. https://bambulab.com/en/p1

So far the printer works very well, printing fast and reliably. I bought it ‘mainly’ for board games have been printing a lot of minis, board game organizers and upgrade parts with it.

There is a lot of learning to do regarding settings, mainly for printing minis with a smaller 0.2mm nozzle, which usually requires very specific tweaking of settings in order to turn out nice and clean. I made so many mistakes with my intial prints but I am learning as I go along and it’s very rewarding to see the results improve.

I use eSun PLA+ filament from Amazon as it has ABS-like properties that make it incredibly strong and durable vs regular PLA, which I( have drop-tested multiple times. it costs around 21chf per 1KG roll https://www.amazon.de/-/en/eSun-PLA-…81&sr=8-5&th=1

I get most of my stuff from Thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com/ , Printables https://www.printables.com/model?category=1 and STLFinder https://www.stlfinder.com/

So, anyone else got a 3D printer and if so what do you print with it?

I haven't got one and the thing that is putting me off is the immense time required to learn 3D CAD to design the parts I want to print.

I did install Fusion 360 but didn't get much further than that!

Apart from that, thanks for starting a thread on it.

Are you sure you need to design the parts yourself and they don't already exist on one of the sites I linked? Or are they completely custom requirements? Often you can take an existing design and tweak it.

I guess so. I'd still like to learn to use the CAD though along with photoshop and a hundred other things....

I have a couple of creality printers - love them.

Still coming to grips with the self leveling though.
