The best burger in Switzerland.

Well Mr. Dog, because many people don't even know this place exists, as it is nestled between 2 floors. Also, their food is quite good, albeit a bit expensive but hey we're in Zurich. And no, you cannot get scrambled eggs at many cafes in Zurich..

I've been to Union (not bad, but expensive as you'd expect) but not Union Diner. Aren't they meant to be the same?

Meant to be same but there is a difference.

i agree to that!

Try THE BITE in Zurich http://www.thebite.ch/

In my opinion they have the best Burgers in town. You can also order 3 mini-burgers. So you can try 3 different burgers at the same time.

Fries are delicious too.

Try "The Bite", best burger in Zurich without doubt! ;-)

Chez Joe, Champéry. Hands-down best burger I have had in Europe.

At the *Burger and HipHop Festival* today

there will be 5 stalls from the following burger restaurants:

Kung Fu Burger

The Bite

Stubä

Erikas Diner

Best burgers I've had here are at this place

http://www.klause-ranch.ch/Restaurant.htm

Bonus is you get to drive the klausen pass to get there the owners are really nice and speak English too

I think Union Diner is better than Union. Better Buns and Fries!

The fork and bottle do some awesome burgers. I had a NZ lamb burger with curry seasoning, mango chutney and yoghurt. Some of my friends were raving about their soft shell crab burgers too.

Plus you can wash them down with some tremendous craft beers.

Best hamburger in ZH? It's ez: http://www.helvti-diner.ch

Beats Holy Cow and Korner. Top notch!!

The food there is ok but the service lets it down IMHO

I like the way that place is laid out and props for having root beer on the menu but when it comes down to the actual food, The Bite beats them by a country mile.

For a $30 burger; I would expect wagyu, lobster toppings or gold leaves. But when it barely measures up to an In N' Out burger at 10% its price, I comsider the burger scene here to be Switzerlanded. Homemade are the best burgers in Switzerland.

+1 for The Bite. expensive but good.

Check out the Fischerstube, the waitress promised me that they are made with love. And I think that the are better than the Union and you get Ueli Bier brewed on the premises for a moderate surcharge.

I've been told by more than one person, people whose opinions I trust, that the burger at the Fish Inn is the best in Basel.

I'll give it a go at some point, if I can ever wean myself off the fish&chips at Tramways.

I had a chicken burger in Hive a couple of days ago... the club apparently turns into a restaurant during the day. https://www.google.ch/maps/place/Hiv...d=0CJ4BEPwSMA0

It was probably the best chicken burger, or close to, that I have ever had... a beautifully tender piece of chicken breast that had a great flavour. The bun was also the perfect (for me) size and texture. My colleagues had a mix of beefburger or chicken and all said they were delicious, and that Hive now has a reputation for great burgers. Next time I will certainly try the beef burger to see what it's like.

They also do a parmesan soup which wasn't very well designed... it was so heavy with cheese to the point that it ruined the appetite of all of the three ladies who had it. In addition, they have a range of pasta dishes which looked pretty uninspiring and forgettable and were certainly nothing special according to the ladies that had it and who ironically got nowhere near to finishing it anyway because of the soup.

One colleague had a battered Egli (fish, perch) dish and it was lovely, the batter was rich and dark and very crisp, easily the best Egli I have had so far while in Switzerland.

The only real downside was the personality of the guy (presumably manager) who was running the floor... he was arrogant to the point of being annoying, and kept making what he thought were witty remarks, but that in reality came across as rude and snide. That was something all of my colleagues also agreed on, including the Swiss.

Worth trying if you're in the area on a lunchtime.

In Geneva, there are two excellent ones:

The Hamburger Foundation ( http://www.thehamburgerfoundation.ch ), which offers a choice of three burgers: hamburger, cheeseburger, or a bacon cheeseburger. At the restaurant it comes as a menu with chips and coleslaw. The meat is from Switzerland and tastes incredible!

Inglewood ( http://www.inglewood.ch ) is also excellent, with a wide variety of unique choices. My personal favourite is the "honey goat" with bacon, goat cheese, and honey - sounds strange, it is delicious!
