The best Indian curry in Zurich?

Maybe its because other people enjoyed it ?

dave

I would rate Kings Kurry at Banhof Wedikon to be the best than anything else like vulkan, Kerala, agarwals, masala, Khan's etc.....

Siva

I thought it was : especially following the scharf, scharf, scharf, scharf, scharf, scharf, scharf,s charf, scharf, scharf incident. But then things changed...

I heard that Korma Sutra in Witikon closed down a couple of weeks ago, but can't find the link that states it again. Think they had some troubles with the management...

"Khan is ok but I never know what to expect. They seem to keep changing management."

The management in Khans has never changed. Nor has the food apart from the specials. Izi, the spectacular hostess (manageress) has left but apart from missing her personal touch, the chef still comes out to greet guests and the standard of the food IMO hasn't changed. I had a great meal there tonight and would be willing to stick my neck out to recommend it.

I'm not an expert on the different regions of Indian food i just know i can take guests there without worrying that the Chef is having an off night.

Tried tried and tested.

what is glasgow curry? does it come with leeks?

Noooo, leeks is Welsh, Scottish curry is deep-fried in its dish and they top it with a (deep-fried) Mars bar. Wash it down with Irn Bru...

ooppss i always confuse leeks with scots, like charlotte church is from belfast...

is there a swis law against getting drunk on holy week?

None whatsoever, get drunk and be merry.

PS In Ireland, it is actually banned to seel booze on Good Friday

what? on good friday? wow, a friend from cork once told me he and his six other siblings were all conceived on good fridays...

thanks man, if i get any drunker (i'm avoiding the mates and pretending to sit and write holy week emails) i'll pay all the newspapers i stole for the last 8-9 years here...

Shame on you...repent!

hehehe... i just actually took the tv-guide and left the newsies intact... i'm a volunteer in the fire department and new year's red-nose brigade tho... it's always payback time when you have to spend new years driving some drunk chap home...

no good curry in geneva too...

Bloody hell mate, I bet some of my friends used your services

I found that "Piment Vert" on Place Grenus quite nice actually but otherwise for me Geneva will always be where you can find an "Indo-Pakistani" restaurant, I guess it's the spirit of Geneva...

Hello Mr Khan

Been to all the places mentioned in the thread plus many many more. After over 8 years in CH I have now virtually given up of finding a semi decent place. Really miss the northern UK, London choice, Scottish selections. Even with unlimited budget I do not think I will ever find a regular Indian friday night restaurant.

Go to Luxemboug a few times a year for an OK meal. Otherwise I save my Francs and go to the UK.

I think my main problem here is the Sri Lankan influences in the breads, sauces or preparation of curries other foods. Plus some sickly sour and Clove tastes which seem to permeate most meals over here. Indian nosh was half of my diet before I moved here (sniff)

Cooking at home is not really the same (is it).

Decent breads and sauces - this is what we need - let me know is a proper Pakistani or Bangladeshi chef moves over here from Rusholme - I will be knocking at their door. Hopefully I will contribute a bit more in the future. Cheers

hello friends,

here is the link for my favorite restaurant in town.

www.khans.ch

i wanted to share one more best moment in zurich,

i was off for 3 days and i was thinking what will i do in these 3 days, then i saw one advertisement on almost all the tram stations in zurich ,it was about a tram in zurich which serves indian food ,its a ride of about 2 hours which starts from zoo .

it was really amazing i was on the tram with 2 of my friends they came to visit me from u.k.

we were served starters which was preplated and it was nicely decorated with a choice of 4 starters ,

tram stops at RATHAUS station for 2 minutes from where chefs of restaurant khans they were already standing their with the main course & dessert.

for the main course we had chicken tikka masala with saffron rice and my friend who was vegetarian he had mix vegetable curry .

and for the dessert we had KHEER .

my friends were from india settled in u.k. now, they also said even we dont get this kind of food in u.k.

thank you forum

hello friends

Hi all, and thanks for helpful string of recommendations.

Any thoughts or knowledge about AMMA on Kalkbreitenstrasse? I hear they serve Dosas, which is a big plus IMHO.

Cheers!
