The EV thread

It seems the accident was related to an over reliance on self driving, which we all know should never be fully trusted. It could be Xiaomi’s fault for inflating its claims of automation.

Regardless I fear there is a new generation of drivers who don’t have basic motoring skills e.g. not being alert/slowing down when you see signs for roadworks because the highway is no longer in a predictable configuration. In this instance the car ploughed into a temporary concrete barrier at almost 100 km/h and burst into flames.

The Polestar 6, that sexy EV cabrio, might not be dead!

Lotus’ boss has raised the hand since the Lotus production plant in the UK is underutilized. Lotus and Volvo are under the same umbrella. It might work…

My kind of car.

For shits n giggles I configured my own bad ass SUV on their site.

Those proportions are classical, the EV drivetrain is the innovation.

You’d never lose it in a big car park, though.

Come on, it’s 20min. Take the photos and the factual info, ignore the rest, be happy

Is 21k considered cheap for a car?

For a new car, yes.

Yes, a new gasoline VW Polo is 20k CHF. Fiat and Dacia may start at 15K.

Below 15k, it’s 4 wheels vehicles with small to big limitations.

It was about time that idiotic EVs entered the market. Too much seriousness and environmentalism, efficiency and optimization are social media influencers. Where’s the fun?

First one, it’s an Alfa Giulia + Lancia Fulvia mash up subsequently violated by Liberty Walk. It’s ridiculous (compliment). Sadly, only exists as render now and the estimated price is 50+ k USD.

But, the ridiculous little car has a weirder sibling. It’s a damned 1st gen Tacoma 4x4 single cab around 2002. And, there’s at least 1 running prototype:

CN is doing to cars what they did with solar panels. Killing the competition with subsidies.

There is a certain irony in the communists beating the capitalists at their own game. Low wages, internal supply chains, a huge and growing home market and the ability of an authoritarian regime to dictate might be more important than subsidies. Biden tried subsidies in the USA with mixed success.
