The most awesome Birthday gift (and/or wishes)

Hi,

So tell me - what was your craziest, most unexpected birthday gift you have ever received or given to someone

Recently, we took our friend on a 'short ride' to Verzasca Damm and made him jumped off the bungee

Another time, when we knew that a friend of ours is gonna have the tatoo made on his birthday - we came in into the tattoo stuidio with red balloons and paid for the tatoo. He was truly impressed

So tell me your stories....

Karina

...my grandpa once gave me 2 pair of socks.

I sent someone up into the sky in a glider.

For years and years he would say I wanna be up there!

He experienced some truly awesome emotions as it was very windy with a clear blue sky!!

My parents gave me a bath towel for my 13th birthday. To this day, they cannot explain their thinking behind the selection of this present.

Thanks - what a great thread for a smile, especially on my birthday!

On my 14th birthday my divorced and decidedly non-horsey parents got together to give me a 23 year old Morgan mare that I had been taking care of all summer, (rescued from her abusive owner) fallen in love with and thought -heartbreakingly - I had to give back. "Moppet" had the biggest heart and the most attitude, won me my first jumping ribbon, & barrel racing buckle and taught me more than any other creature in my life to date. She was daring and dignified and fast and wise ... would try her guts out for me but was not afraid to dump me on my ass when I deserved it! I retired her at 25 and she died when she was 29. I still wear that buckle on a belt with some of her hair braided into it

My mom took this photo when they told me:

That was a lovely gift for you and a very nice story. Thanks for sharing it and with the photo too.

Recently I made a work colleague who loves snickers a 2.5 kg (5.5lbs) snickers bar. It was a going away gift, not a bday gift, but pretty cool none the less.

For my last birthday my boyfriend baked me a cake, bought me flowers and handed me a bunch of photographs: 1 of Istanbul, 1 of moskow, 1 of Barcelona.....8 cities in total and I was aloud to pick one for a long-weekend get away.

wow, that is a very impressive birthday.

My parents seriously don't love me!

Booked a surprise weekend in Stockholm for the wife's 40th, but she found out when the airline phoned up saying our flights had been changed

For her latest birthday, booked a surprise "Romantic Escape" weekend at the Palafitte hotel in Neuchâtel, including champers, roses, meal, rose petals in the room etc etc. Link: http://www.palafitte.ch/index01.htm .

Link saved. Thanks! How was the room?

Frigging awesome. All the rooms are self-contained units, some of which are actually over the lake itself, which is what we had.

That place sure is a dream isn't it.

Sometimes that was the only place left to book in visitors at work and they were like going oh and ah, how lovely no end!!

Im so going to this one! Other half are you reading??

For my bday last year i took me to Paris. It was fun

On my birthday my boyfriend married me!!

Indeed it was, perhaps I should add that I was responsible for all costs of keeping her, committed to straight A's, swiftly completed chores and no boyfriends till graduation (or yoink - no horse!) and she was a combo birthday/Christmas present ($500) - I didn't get another for about five years!!! Still the best present ever though

Clever guy, now he only needs to buy you one present for your birthday and anniversary!

I LOVE birthdays - any excuse to celebrate!!

Threw a huge surprise party for hubs last year and made him a life-size superchocolate guitar cake...

Yes quite, and Valentines too, as it happens!

What you said.....for my birthday last year. Never again.

I had strict instructions NEVER to propose on a birthday/christmas or any other specific holiday because of this present loophole!
