Lily was well behaved, she went right with the owner, Stephan. She was clean and full of energy today when I picked her up after 9 days. She's not been to a tierheim for more than a night or two in nearly 2 years. For a middle sized dog, cost was chf 42/day. They take only cash, but gave me a rechnung today. Lily had a roommate and didn't devour him, so I'm happy. Also to have my pup back, of course.
Over the years my dogs have been in and out of various kennels in the UK, but this is the only place I have ever seen them truly relaxed and happy when I collect them. The environment is lovely as its out in the country with nice gardens and plenty of space. The dogs are left to roam about every now and then, but not with other dogs, individually or in my case, with my two together, as well as their usual walkies they get. My dogs love the ladies who take care of them, which again, I've never really seen before. They treat all the dogs like they are their own and the kennels are directly joined to her house, so you know someone is there 24 hours a day should anything bad happen.

I had to use another local kennel recently as I couldn't get into the above kennel, and my dogs came back quite stressed and were very clingy for a few days, so I plan to avoid that happening again!
Hope that helps anyone more in the Lausanne area
I just picked the sweet puppies up from a weeklong stay with a new dog sitter just outside of Geneva.
It's a Brittish lady that keeps no more than two customer dogs at a time in her house (she has a older black lab of her own as well), and the price was reasonable. When I picked them up, they were happy and healthy.
My wife found her on one of the expat websites, but I don't think that it was here on the EF. We will be using her services again over the Christmas holidays, and are happy to recommend her as well if anyone is interested.

my dog was more well behaved I didn't stress AT ALL about how she was being treated the dogs didn't stay separate from the sitter i.e. in a barn, kennel, etc. The only time the dogs are out of her presence is when she went to bed. She had a room in the house in which they all slept together. her house was spotless. My dog was the 6th one there and you couldn't tell (or smell) that she had animals in her home. Of course, my baby came back as clean as she went in. she lived in an area with lots of room for the dogs to run about

I did misinterpet the price... I thought it was 40 CHF per day. I didn't read the fine print that says the 40 didn't include overnight stay for 7 days, I paid a total of 697.50 CHF... Yeah, WAAAAAYYYY too much
Overall, I did like the care that my baby received. She was happy and tired when I picked her up, but I can't use her services anymore. It's way too expensive for me. However, if money is no issue, I HIGHLY recommend using her.
A new interesting site is www.tierpensionen-schweiz.ch which also lists prices in the search results. Lots of pics and information on each Tierpension, but there's no rating system.
Open plan, no cages, 3000m2 of land and the dogs roam free with constant supervision.
Carla speak English too.
Lovely place
The first time ever I felt completely relaxed, knowing the dogs were in the safest hands. Mitzy and her team were friendly and professional, going out of the way to be helpful and they clearly love dogs.
Mitzy also understands owners. She sent me several texts to let me know they were fine and a picture.
The dogs evidently had the best time, and I was absolutely delighted with the service.
100% recommended. Mitzy is a wonderful find and I can finally start planning holidays, knowing I've found the perfect dog sitting solution.
I have two cats, both domestic short hair, one is an Arabian tabby - the most noticeable difference is that she is very, very vocal. Currently we live in a hotel apartment and since my husband and I are planning to travel for a long weekend mid July we are desperately searching for a cattery in Zurich. Our cats would need to be housed seperately as the move has upset them somewhat and they really arent getting along (Girls!!! )
So far, I have only come across cat sitters, but this isnt appropriate at this small apartment. I even dont mind if someone (established and recommended) would be prepared to keep our girls in their home.
All advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Has anyone used "my dog care" right outside of winterthur (kollbrun?)
Woudl you still recommend this kennel? (Reccomendation is over 2 yrs old so just want to make sure it is still actual)
What we love about Mitzy's:
1) Mitzy comes to our apartment to pick up our dog, and when we return from vacation she drops her off at our apartment.
2) Our dog loves Mitzy. Whenever Mitzy comes to pick her up, our dog gets super excited to see her and is eager to leave with her.
3) Mitzy loves our dog. You can tell she really loves and cares for the dogs she looks after.

Trying to do all admin on phone! And slow internet! Welll - we will be moving to Baar/Zug in January 2014 and really excited! If anyone please have advice on a kennel or boarding place for my pet rabbit in the area - I would appreciate it! We will be staying in a hotel while looking for a an apartment or house - so she will also need a place to be safe and well taken care of! Thank you!
We have left our dog at Tierheim Strubeli ( http://www.strubeli.ch/ ) twice now and have been satisfied with their services and care. They were recommended to us by another kennel who could not meet our needs. Our dog is quite large, and does not always get along with other dogs, so the two-dog "roommate" boarding scenario likely wouldn't work for her. She is also used to having her own space at the kennel we used for several years in Canada.
Ultimately, they meet our dog’s individual needs, and are also in a convenient location for us (which is a factor for us because we don’t have regular access to a car).
They also board cats, small animals and birds.
