The Robot Apocalypse is closer than you think

With zero airflow, you cant have stability with or without fins, nor you can make an engine work.

You would need gravity and air for motion and airflow for stability. If theres NOTHING in space, then you cannto generate Motion, hence the assumption that space is filled with Ether. (Hope my memory is with me otherwise, its time for a Royal bash!!! )

I don't think a human can achieve a better target ID while flying a fast-mover at 300kts+.

The problem is not the drone.

sounds to me that the drone is at fault, not the United States. I would say that the UN needs to demand that the drones provide the evidence.

Well, for a start, getting whapped by a Hellfire launched from a loitering

Predator is hardly random, is it? I would put that firmly in the "deliberate"

category.

.

WTF, were you educated in the 1800s?

And they were all horizontal too...

B.C., that is.

See, where would threads be, if it wasnt for ignorant trolls like me...

...still on topic?

Wot, you mean talking about things like DARPAs new surveillance scheme

called "Flow-based Information Theory Tracking"... ?

.

Let us ask former Captain R. Roll :

Should the Robot Apocalypse go nowhere Synthetic Biology might suddenly do something freaky to alter mankind and this planet. A suivre ...

Is this the face of the man who will doom us all?

Quite possibly...

I've long believed that behind the Swiss air of neutrality, lies a terrible, malevolent intent. And it's becoming more obvious that that intent is to initiate the destruction of mankind at the hands of our own technological creations...

First they teach them to lie, now some crazy b4stard want to create "the world's first artificial conscious and intelligent mind"

One mans mission to create a living mind inside a machine - Mail Online

Can he bend spoons, too?

.

Probably. He has that look about him...

He really does look like someone who spends too much time in some spooky lab.

"'We will do it by 2018,' says the professor confidently. 'We need a lot of money , but I am getting it. '

But of course.

Samsungs military robot project was cancelled... not safe and proven enought to replace soldiers at the Northern border of South Korea.

Now they try to sell it as a surveillance system for corporate customers...

Those crazy folks at EPFL are at it again. You might remember that last year, they developed robots that learned to lie , and now they're teaching them to hunt.

Robots evolve to learn cooperation, hunting (cnet)

They must be stopped. Who's with me?

In related news, Caprica (prequel to Battlestar Galactica) in back on after its pilot last year. Addresses some of these interesting issues.
