Thermal Baths - Close to Luzern- Open this time of year?

Hello,

My Nan & Pop are coming to visit in June and I would love to take them on a little day trip to some Thermal baths (near Luzern). We would hire a car so happy to drive up to two hours. Are any open this time of year? The few I have looked at seem to be closed.

Kind regards,

Charde

Baden has nice thermal baths, see above. Not as nice as the ones in Valais (only my opinion) but much more accessible from LU.

You could also goto Bad Zurzach , its quite nice, there are 4 pools.

There is also a nice meuseum opposite the train station there.

this is the closest one to Luzern I believe, was just there a couple days ago, fantastic place, great facilities, we always go to this one. Probably an hour or so away from Luzern: http://www.bad-schinznach.ch/

Thanks so much for this recommendation, I can't really see from the pictures of the website are there baths outside as well as inside? Do you need to book in advance?

Yes, it is a connected indoor/outdoor thermal bath with lots of nice jets and waterfalls. Also a nice hot jacuzzi and sauna, spotlessly clean, good restaurant, super hygenic, great locker system, beautiful surrounding gardens. You do not need to book anything in advance, just show up, they have a huge parking garage, and if you go on a weekday you will have most of the place to yourselves!

Thanks for the tip...looks really nice! We are going to hire a car to do this and can make a day trip out of it...so I guess we don't need to actually be THAT close to Luzern (just within a 2 hours drive I guess)..that considered would anybody reccomend anywhere else?

We don't really want a huge big place full of people...prefer something more low key.

We were going to go the amazing Vals thremals but they are closed unfortunatley at that time!

Hi again everyone!

For the Shinznach baths -- what is the drive like and the surroundings? One of the reasons we were likign the idea of going to Vals (which is closed unfortunately) was to make a worthwhile drive out of it and see some picturesque scenery. Will this be the case?

Also...has anyone been to either of these baths?

Les Bans des Valey

If we went to the either of these would it also be a good general day trip?

Thanks!

Look Chardie, I've tipped you off on a little-known gem among the english speaking community. Just go to Schinznach Bad and see for yourself. Next thing you will be asking is if there are any Macdonalds along the way in case you get hungry!

I heard Winston Churchill used to frequent Schinznach. Napoleon as well. I know Phos goes there.

Beware of the sauna.

This spa has well-renowned architecture:
