I was going to say vole as the tail looked to be short and hairy, rather than hairless as in a rat but it could be that the end of the tail is hidden in the moss.
The ears are definitely rat-like rather than vole like which a more rounded and hidden in the fur.
Shame I didn’t see this earlier this week as when I went to feed the cats one morning, I found a (dead) vole carefully placed in one’s cat food bowl.
