This can only be money laundering, right?

I am actually looking for a picture. But Ricardo’s lack of search by dimension is frustrating. I’m not looking at 10k pics individually.

I found a painter in Zurich that has a style I like. But his pics are 8500 per picture - and that is not what I was planning on spending.

I actually also like the picture in the original posting - but it’s also got the wrong dimensions and as I said, it’s absurd.

How big would a suitcase need to be when you have to pay in cash to collect it:

Apparently, a 1000 CHF note weighs about 1.14g. So that’s 14000 of them, that would be 16kg - give or take.

According to this article, a stack of 1000 CHF notes is just 10cm:

Given that a single note is 70x158mm, the resulting stack of money would be too big (and too heavy, given a 7kg limit) to carry into the cabin in economy, but maybe a business class ticket would do?

This assumes that you implied flying in with the money.

I asked ChatGPT because why not?

It also added this nugget of wisdom:

In practice:
CHF 14 million in 1,000 CHF notes would fit easily into a small briefcase or backpack, weighing about as much as a bowling ball — but carrying that in cash would of course raise very serious legal, logistical, and safety issues.

Happy shopping @rainer_d !

Edit - you’re faster than I was copying over the info!

Suggest to seller to bring item(s) to the branch at paradeplatz (via the back entrance of course), for a private cash counting and handover, in one of the upper floors lined with red carpet? Coffee, hot towels, etc are complimentary, of course

Client will pass AML and make immediate washed deposit …

pour mes amis qui parlent francais… “Suisse ?” - Pourquoi la Suisse est pétée de thunes ? (min 3:36)

haha, that’s new banknotes. If the notes been used, they get a bit dirty and weigh slightly more and occupy more volume (unless compressed).

Just wondering about the AML controls at ricardo. The most expensive auto ad that looks real it’s for a Lambo Aventador for ~300k CHF. There’s a race car for 1 million, but I guess it’s a joke. A mobile home is sold for 500+k. Prices on the high side, but these vehicles are a damned order of magnitude less than the painting.

there are some EU countries where the platform has to submit the sales made by each registered user to the fiscal authorities…and if you sell for more than 2,000 Euros (or 30 operations) and you have not declared that income…good luck…as it is fully taxable!
