I plan to write more about my experience soon, as I'm a writer for Huff Post and other magazines/blogs. But want to get the news out here...ICS is a phenomenal community and school.
I'm posting this as a separate thread (just posted about Foundations for Learning for my oldest child.) Because I want to share that my three kids LOVE their new school. Grades 5, 4 and 2. We moved to Zürich in December and the kindness from teachers and parent community and the creative quality of the inquiry based education have all surpassed the experiences we've had at other private schools in the U.S.
Adding here that I have been accused of SPAM because of my overt enthusiasm for my children's school. Or over-enthusiasm. Over-transparency?
I apologize for my cheerful demeanor. This happens when a person has been through tough times, moved a lot, seen her kids suffer, and suddenly finds herself in the midst of a great school, great teachers, and a great community.
I know, it's strange. Suspicious even. I would tell you to go read my Facebook writer page or my articles on Huffington Post or Hello Dearest, but then I'd have to give you my name and THEN this would be considered promotion and Spam. Sigh.
You can tell from your posts that you are massively relieved that it seems to have all gone to plan. It must have been a huge upheaval to move here into the unknown then suddenly find that it all works out for the best.

There’s no need to apologise and I’m glad your son is doing so well in his new school. I think it’s just people here can’t see why you need 2 threads on the same subject when you could have put your ICS comments along with the ones about FFL. It does come across as a bit spammy, especially when both threads are in the same section.
Still, it’s clear you’re not a spammer, but a very happy and relieved mom and that’s the best news there could be. Enjoy your stay here in Switzerland and on the forum (if we haven’t put you off) and I hope all your children continue to do well at their school.
Yes, I get it! I posted twice (and mentioned it in one post) because I knew that some people would be looking for international schools and some for special needs schools and they are a completely different group. I have kids from both areas of learning and I'm just so happy that I need to share... I would love to help another mom who is lost.

Your so strange, I like you already. Glad to hear your family are doing well here, I'm sure that will give you more breathing space for your own creative work and maybe with time we'll get to read some of your stuff or see your art.
Hello again ataves, I am so incredibly happy to hear you have found the peace of mind you have dreamed of where your children are concerned, nothing can expand a heart with pride and joy than when one sees their children happy and flourishing, it is obvious that for all the hardship of moving so often, this time it was worth every darn bit of effort!
Like you I am new to this forum, and it would seem that next to my name I have 2 little red squares that states that I have (already) "become a little unpopular", I guess it was for recognising your thread as authentic and ticking off the silly person who left their silly comment. Och well, I guess people mean it when they say I look like Shirley Manson and have a gob like hers as well!
