Time to process L-permit renewal

Hello!

Has anyone had an non-EU L-permit renewed recently? If so how long did it take to receive the renewal.

Also, I have some upcoming travel foreign travel. If the new card does not arrive in time is it possible to get permission from the Kreisburo to reenter Switzerland?

So, it took 2 months and I got my L permit in hand 3 weeks after my B permit had expired.

You could request a Rückreisevisum for re-entry into CH.

Yes. But mine may have been a special case as I was moving from B to L. I know that the Amt fur Wirtschaft und Arbeit approved it in 2 weeks, but the cantonal immigration decided to sit on it for 6 weeks.

For the Rückreisevisum, remember to give them sufficient information - e.g., the dates, where you will be travelling to, single entry/multiple entry etc. Also take a passport-sized photo with you and the fees for the visa.
