Tire leaking air, vulcanization service in Lausanne

can someone suggest a shop where they repair tires...one of the tires is deflating within a week and i actually spotted a screw head on it...it would be more than good if they understand english

Is it a run-flat tyre? Is so, it is not repairable. You have to buy a new one.

Googling for "lausanne pneu" suggests this listing of tyre places:

http://www.pneuweb.ch/canton/VD/vd.htm

I've had good experience of Pneu Egger, one of the tyre places it lists. One or two years ago I had a screw-damaged tyre and they fixed it successfully (so far!) with a rubber plug.

I wouldn't think you'd need to find an english-speaking place - if you point at a screw sticking out of your tyre I'm pretty sure they'll figure out what to do.

as i mentioned, it is leaking within a week, so the leak is small but noticable

i have had a similar situation a year ago on another tire - i was repaired successfully

thanks...only, they are in yverdon...any suggestion for something closer?

can you recall, how much did you pay for this?

If you scroll down a bit on that page then you will see the 6 garages they list for Lausanne. I'm from Zürich so you'll have to wait for the local folks to give further hints.

I can't remember how much I paid but it only took them about 10 minutes. It would be cheaper if you combined the work with the (optional) changeover to winter tyres, which is anyway due now with the colder weather.

My hint is - pretty much any garage can do it. Really. Why waste too much time and energy on this...

it was meant to be for the locals, i see that it sounds like it was addressed to you

i saw those 6 garages and i will probably visit the closest one i have just as mk2 suggested...i was hopping for a hint that somewhere they speak english

also, i was hopping for a price so that they don't rip me off

Just some advice, You probably wont get ripped off anywhere, but you could expect to pay from CHf50 (joe garage) to CHf120 (BMW).

If the hole is anywhere near the side, throw it out and buy a new one or it will come back and could be dangerous to drive on.

YOu will only get a rubber patch or a plug anyway, which do not last depending on your driving habits and weight of the vehicle.

thanks...it is around the middle...

If it is around the middle, then you need a new rim, not a new tire

Just kidding,

If you are able, you may be able to do the repair yourself. You can buy tire plugs, not sure where here, check ebay, prepare your gear, pull the nail out, put the plug in, presto. but, again, they are not permanent, if you only need a temp fix for under a year, it'll work, over that, best buy a new tire.

it's a good one

anyway, went to euromaster, it took them a little bit longer than i thought (30+ minutes), 40 chf flew away...
