112 years ago on this day the Titanic struck an iceberg, not yet, right now she is still sailing towards New York. People are strolling the decks, having lunch, talking and marveling at this gigantic iron wonder, Jack is shagging Rose and everybody is having a good time.
Not long now untill she hits the iceberg before vanishing under the waves to her last voyage to the bottom of the ocean.

Some people claim it was just an insurance scam and they just changed the letters on the outside to deliberately sink its sister-boat, the Oceanic (which had already had a couple of „mishaps“ and was basically threatening to be an expensive write-off.)
Apparently, all the cutlery and stationary inside was identical on both ships…
It´s a myth that has been around for a few years even before the Titanic was found, however that story has since been debunked, the serial numbers on the propellor, winches and boilers for instance were those assigned to the Titanic and not the Olympic…
The Oceanic on the other hand was a ship built in 1900 and sank after running aground in 1914.
There is a great memoir “Titanic Survivor” by Violet Jessop. She was a White Star Line stewardess and she was on Olympic when it was damaged, Britannic when it sank and Titanic when it sank.
