Toilet water connector thingy

I am interested to connect a bidet toilet seat to my existing toilet, and hence inset a T-connector in between the water outlet from the wall, and the pipe that continues to the toilet cistern, so that I can run the water into the bidet seat as well.

I want to ask someone in the know about the toilet water connection coming out of the wall, and how I can find out what that thread/connection is called, and the size of it (so that when I buy a bidet seat, I know that it will connect ok. Swiss plumbing sites seem to denote these connector sizes in inches, which is strange for me.

To make my request more precise, for anyone who has time to check, this is the model I wanted to get:

https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B08C26HHK9/

And if you look at the image at the 7 second mark of the video attached to the image section, you will see the connector there. Is this compatible with Swiss toilet water outlets?

Thank you!

Nearly all plumbing sizes are in inches !!!

The term "Zoll" is used ing Switzerland

Thank you, that is what I mentioned. Would you know what size the toilet standard one is?

water connection are by 1/8 >>>>>1/4> 3/8>1/2>5/8 >3/4 >1 1/4 etc Inches /zoll . If you would be here in Canada /USA i would say 1/2 inch Pipe thread coming out of the wall

They do not cost much so if you are not sure then buy a couple of different sizes; if you buy from Jumbo, Coop, or similar you can probably get your money back on the unused ones.

Pipe sizes are based on the INTERNAL diameter of said pipe, so 1/2" pipe is 19mm or so in the real world, and so on.

Many thanks! I was just about to ask this to the previous replies, but you answered for me.

What about the threads (and other characteristics), as they are all the same? i.e. all I need to check is internal diameter, and not worry about other specifications?

Like everyone else, the Swiss use NPT dimensions.

The sizes and threads are standard. If it isn't one it will be the other and you can get reductions to adjust to it.

I would take pictures and measurements and show it to the guys in the plumbing section at Bauhaus (or Hornbach). They should be able to get you the right bits.

is it fixed ?

Not fixed yet, I have taken photos, and will go to OBI or somewhere one of these weekends. Life is getting in the way...
