Tourism related job

Hello!

I would like to move to Switzerland next year. But before I do that I would like to find out if there is possible for me to find job.

As I have bachelor degree in management of tourism I would like to find job in tourism related field. I have work experience in tourism agency, in hotel and also 3 years experience in administration job.

Only thing is that I know very little German, which I would like to change.

Thank you in advance!

no very hard to find a job in the industry unless you want to become a waiter. there is some companies but VERY little hire. I have the same degree (postgrad) and have come across 2 jobs on jobup.ch

but you need to go and do your own research and find them.

Sorry to dash your hopes, but here in CH for any responsibility job in tourism you will need to speak at least 3 languages, English, German and either French or Italian depending on the area.

There are jobs for English speakers at Kuoni-DMC.

A way in is via reservations http://kombi.jobs.ch/kuoni/v2/displa...9&Org_id=22931

A list of their full jobs are here http://www.kuoni-dmc.com/jobs/ there are also some internship roles as well.

Just note that Tourism is the best paid industry but a great one to work in.

the son of a friend of ours recently graduated from the Lausanne Hotel school ... he speaks English and French fluently, German fairly well and he has a limited understanding of Greek...

...

He recently accepted a concierge position in Bejing Hilton.

I work for Kuoni and I second this...

Thank you for your help.

At least I have hope and it`s not like there are no possibility to find job in tourism field.

you mean NOT paid well right? and I must admit it is a great industry to work in until a certain age where other commitments come along such as wife, kids, etc. It is nearly impossible to have any relationships if both are not working in the industry.... which is why I have left it for the time being. until im much older , have tons of money and can put a younger one in it to run my own....one day, one day

If you're looking for Corporate Reservations, try AMEX, i heard they needed some staff to work in Geneva

Thank you!

There are certainly some places where Russian will be quite useful. It's been a while since I've been back, so I don't know if the Russians are still going to Gstaad. But figuring where they go is the key. I know in Germany there is quite a lot of Russian tourist traffic to Baden Baden. (Again, the German Baden Baden one not the Swiss Baden)

Well, thank you for this information, as I know Russian quit good as well this could be useful for me. And I guess that tourists from Russia you can meet everywhere as they are sooooo many.
