If any of you poor souls bought a HD-DVD player, Sony will let you trade it in for a discount on one of their Blu-ray players, offer only applies to Switzerland.
Is this still valid please i want to trade my 2 month old HD ready DVD player in for a Blue Ray so i can watch my Saw V DVD film
Do you have an actual HD-DVD player? What do you mean by "HD ready" player?
Edit - (Also this thread is over a year old, why did you reply to it? I'm sure it's no longer valid, as the link to Sony no longer works.)
Yes we have a HD ready player, and i replied ti this thread in desperation i also don`t think it is valid anymore, but just wanted to check
Just so you know, I don't think an "HD ready" player is the same thing as an HD-DVD player.
Sorry i am crap with these kind of things, it is a HD DVD player.
An article more than a year ago:
Print out that article and ask that lying git of a salesperson why they misrepresented to you about Blu Ray disks being able to be played on your HD DVD player ( with prices dropping since losing the war ) and still stocking such players.
According to the Ebay/Saw thread, the model number she provided is NOT an HD-DVD player, just a DVD recorder. So who knows?
Even then, it cannot play a Blu Ray disc. The misrepresentation still stands.
Wrong it says on the machine HD, anyway i have traded it in for a blue ray now so all is ok
Maybe some marketing droid labeled it HD because of the video interface instead of the drive's capability to read HD-DVD disks? Anyway, have fun with your high definition horror movies.
Thanks and next time i am going to make you stay and watch them with us lol
Discovered I still have in my possession a leftover from life in the US, an HD-DVD player (Toshiba HD-A2). Anyone interested, for free?
I probably have a number of films still available but would need to do some searching
