Does anyone know some good traditional Swiss drinking & pub songs?
We sang this at the local pub after our German classes ended - not sure if it counts.
Hejo, spann den Wagen an
never heard about "traditional drinking & pub songs" here in Switzerland
Come on Wolli, never sung "Weni nume wüsst, wo's Vogellisi wär," "Es Puurebüebli mag i nid" and the like?
.
My personal favourite is "I'm Gonna Make That Last Inch Of Stange Last An Hour Even If It Kills Me"...
.
Sounds more like some kind of blues to me.
Oh dear me. Perhaps on the day of the hangover yes, he he he.
Otherwise, I think they sing pretty much the same stuff in Pubs as during a football match.
Oooh, I sang this last Aug 1
There obviously is some singing in pubs
This one's pretty traditional, too, if one's in the right company
Hubby isn't one to hang in pubs - or sing usually - but my mother-in-law has a cassette with Mani Matter singing that they both quite gleefully sing along with.
Here is an example (I can imagine this style being quite popular to sing in pubs also):
My all time favor is "Eis ,Zwei ,Drue suffe" .I still can`t count to ten
Thanks Peg Enjoined this very much
If you liked that one, maybe this one will be good too? I find this one to be very catchy.
No, they were not up in Zürich. The only song which became popular enough to be entoned in pubs etc was "Grüzi Wohl Frau Stirnimaa"
I learned this one up in Reideralp:
"Tut mir leid, ich bin schon wieder breit"
Peg got the best one so far...Peg your awesome...where can I buy the album?
I'm surprised no-one has mentioned "üüterli ab haua". It's always the first one I think of when it comes to Swiss drinking songs
