Early this morning I made a traffic violation: I made a wrong turn left where it is forbidden. I simply made a mistake, but I did not go through red (it was green), nor I made any other traffic violation. Cameras are all over the place on the traffic lights. I live in France (FR residence, have Fr plates) but drive to Geneva every day. What should I do? I would certainly pay the fine if I get one.
I used to live in France and my car was still on French plates and I picked up a couple of speeding fines in ZH, and Z-plod only send tickets for minor offence to Swiss and German address. For other foreign registered cars the ticket stay on the system.... Waiting. Anyway, my car was parked all legit in a permit parking area, with the correct permit, and a warden ran a check and the tickets came up. She called in plod, who attended and they called for a tow truck, but meantime where going to clamp my car to stop it being driven away . The lady I was working for saw the crowd at my car and we went out, the 2 tickets totaled CHF 80, but had they actually fitted the clamp that would have been an additional CHF 125 to get it removed. If they'd towed it, it would have been closer to CHF 500 iirc plus the tickets
Maybe Geneva is different, but I'd approach the local ploddery and ask them if you have a ticket on record, and pay it if you have as it could turn out to be expensive.
I've never had any issues with UK registered cars in CH or anywhere else and I know I have been flashed on the motorways and received parking tickets on various occasions over a 4 year period.
However driving to the UK a few weeks ago in our Swiss registered car I did get a speeding ticket just south of Reims. 60 Euros.
I understand it's now normal practise that all neighbouring countries in europe cooperate with each other for motoring offences.
Good luck, you never know, you may have got away with it! but don't ignore it if you do get a fine.
Usually, red light cams only get triggered when you drive over the induction loop at the stop line during red phase. From how you describe the situation, I don't see how you could have been recorded.

France and Switzerland have cooperation on traffic offenses so just sit back relax and wait. However most cameras at conjunctions are for monitoring the traffic and not belonging to the police for giving you sleepless nights....
