Tramfondue Zurich - is it worth it?

I am going to have some relatives visiting me in Zurich and I had the idea to take them for a tramfondue in Zurich. It costs about 90 SFR, which makes it rather expensive, but who knows, perhpas it is worth it? I imagine (based on their taste in food), they will not find the fondue itself delicious, but perhaps the experience of the tramfondue is worth it?

Has anyone tried it and could share any information about it?

..if they don't like Fondue, then I don't think that it's worth it. Even for people who like the Fondue, I doubt that 90Chf are worth the ride. IMHO.

If you are ready to blow CHF 90 on a meal, I would recommend this place:

Eat till you explode, and with 1/2 bottle of wine included per person, you land on chf 90, where you still need to add the drinks at the fondue tram.

I just checked the tramfondue website and you're right. You'd have to pay for drinks separately

Thank ou guys, 90CHF for some melted cheese sounds even too expensive in Swiss terms

Fondue in Niederdorf starts at CHF 25, so its basicly CHF 65 extra for 2 hours Tram Transport (plus a return tram ticket to get to the starting point )

The Fondue Tram, been there done it. Unlimited fondue of reasonable quality.

Don't expect to see anything after 15 minutes of your journey, the tram windows mist up - warm and moist inside, cold out.

Le Dezaley is recommended over this.

I know the thread is quite old but just to add my experience - we did the fondue tram last year and I wouldn't really recommend it. The fondue itself wasn't that great. It's pretty crowded and tight, especially with all the coats and bags of people who don't want to hang them up and leave them bulging out over the backs of their chairs.

It gets hot and humid in there and you stink of cheese.

I suppose the novelty is having the fondue on the tram and touring round the city but I think I'd rather have the fondue in a nice restaurant and not bother with the tour.

Be aware of the smell... do you really want to put anyone into that tram?
