Transfers Bristol Airport to Cornwall.

Yes I’ve been searching, but looking for personal recommendations.

We arrive at BRS fairly late-ish, scheduled around 22h00 and are looking for a one way transport to near Padstow.

Any suggestions?

Spend a night somewhere locally and get a bus/train in the morning.

If there's enough of you then a taxi or pre-booked car + driver would be another possibility and can work out better value than the train.

I found a car for 361 GBP for up to three people.

Out of interest, which airline is flying to Bristol and from where?

Second the spending the night locally.

You can get to Bristol via Amsterdan or Palma, from Zürich or Basel.

Rent a car and drive ?

Most car hire desks close long before the OP's flight comes in. Europcar stays open until 11.00pm but if the flight is 30 minutes late, he probably won't get to the desk in time.

If they have your flight no they will wait, I have picked up cars at East Midlands Airport up to an hour after official closing time.

Easyjet is flying Geneva-Bristol three times a week. And that last flight is always late. Always.

Rental cars are in short supply and they dislike one-way rentals. Over double the cost of a round trip, and a weeks rental was over £1,000.

Does Uber exist in the UK, or a similar local company?

Uber works, in both London & Birmingham, not sure about Bristol

If I were the OP, I'd get a quote from the more budget chauffuer/limousine services that serve Bristol airport. He may be surprised at the cost compared with train/bus/taxi and/or a night's accommodation.

Much more comfortable too. Someone like http://www.budgetairporttransfers.co.uk/

Exactly that, this is the reason rental companies ask for your flight number

Depending on which date you're travelling, there's....

National Express

Bristol Coach and bus station 23:45 - 05:10 Bodmin £26.

It's only 20-25mins from the airport to the coach station, so you should easily make it and can sleep until Bodmin. First bus to Padstow would be just after 6am, so it might be worth getting a taxi for the final 1hr stretch.

Stagecoach Falcon (booked via Megabus website)

Bristol Airport 23:00 - 01:52 Plymouth £22.25

Bristol Airport 23:59 - 02:52 Plymouth £22.25

then travel on from Plymouth later in the morning

Train

If you don't fancy the coach, another route would be:

bus from Bristol Airport 22:58 - 23:38 Bristol Temple Meads

train from Bristol Temple Meads 23:48 - 02:10 Plymouth

train from Plymouth 05:18 - 05:52 Bodmin Parkway.

That would be twice the price or more, but you could stay the night in Plymouth.

I can't see transfers by car at that time of night for under £400, but if you did consider a Taxi, I'd ask firms in Padstow to quote.

p.s. When my OH was working in Exeter for a few months, I used all 3 of the above from Manchester to Exeter. If you opt for the coach, just make sure you have a couple of inflatable pillows or foam neck rolls in your hand luggage. Some of the seats can be quite 'numbing'.

Thank you for your research!

There is a hotel at the airport. Hampton by Hilton which is pretty good. We used it following a late arrival. We picked up a car in the morning and drove to Cornwall. The hotel is next door to EuropCar and Avis car rental. (Less than 3 minutes walk).

You could also use A1 cars from st Ives in Cornwall. They run an airport service. You can book online or call them.
