Otherwise, in the course of moving from CH to FR, I'm going to have to go through the pfaffing of getting a formal translation of my licence done...

EF'ers, does anyone know please whether I can apply to the Verkersampt to swap out my German language Swiss driver licence for a French language licence?
It's already in five languages, all four Swiss plus English (unless you have one of the old paper ones, in which case just swap it for the new (20 year old) one).

My VD issued License is in German, French, Italian, Romansch and English. It is also in the EU standard format with a scan band.
Only the old paper ones were in a single language.
