Travel during C-permit extension process

Hi,

My C-permit is up for extension and my gemeinde told me it can take up to 3 months for me to recieve the new permit.

How does one travel for work, urgent meetings during this time? Is there a temporary permit or letter I need to apply for or any other way?

You can get a return visa (if you need one) from the cantons migration office. The fee is around CHF 100. Not sure if the fee is waived if the delay is caused by them.

Since the delay is beyond normal, one should always request for a waive off.
