Hi

Can anyone suggest me some best places to visit from Zurich. My cousins are coming over and I would like to show them the best . I have been to couple of places like Lucerne , engelberg, TItlis ,Jungfrau. But I don't know if I am missing out something . We are more into scenic views and activities. Trip is for 3nights 0.5 day

Also need your opinion on gold trains ? How they are different

Hi Momo, if you and your cousins like scenic walks, you could catch the train up to Uetliberg and, after heading up their lookout tower, walk south along the ridge - you get the added bonus of a bit of astronomy, since the Planet Walk runs along there (scale models of the major celestial bodies of our solar system, spaced out from each other to scale as well).

Get to Felsenegg at the end, where you can have a drink or a meal overlooking Lake Zurich, then catch the cable car down to Adliswil and the train back into town from there.

Takes about two hours from Uetliberg station to Felsenegg, including getting up and down the lookout tower (unless you like to take a few stops at scenic spots along the way).

In the Bern (ish) area, Ballenberg is one of my go-to outings for first time visitors to Switzerland.

Ballenberg is an open-air museum, a great introduction to Swiss history and culture, a real treasure. Typical historic buildings from each region have been moved and rebuilt in the park, and in each region’s area traditional crafts are featured. The scenery is gorgeous as you wander around the park. History and hiking all in one.
