Tubal Ligation VS Vasectomy

You touch him, I'll kick your ass! I need every pieces of him to be working.... just not the producing part.

This blog is just an exemple. Just Google Tubal Ligation Syndrome and you'll find tons of informations about it. It is very scary to see how it is commun! Not just a case here and there!

I made my decision already, I won't do that. No chance. But I won't have any other kids either so hubby will probably be the one get the turn on the sacrifice part!

It is very important for me to talk about it and if some other women on the forum think about the procedure, to think about the risks too. It ain't risk free.

On some guys, it has some effects, decrease in hormonal levels and body trying to deal with it, just like that reaction that Nil mentioned..different symptoms. I remember discussing the same stuff on parenting board and guys there were quite unhappy about their female partners pushing them into giving up their..manhood, as they saw it. I can't comment, but I think if there are side-effect on chicks, there will be on men. I'd be careful with suggestions.

interesting thread....

What about just let the nature go its way ? Unless you have a medical obligation to do it.

I think there's some usual ways to avoid to have more kids.

It's no more a problem nowadays.

Or Am I Wrong ?

Plus risk of infection..

Nature go its way? Huh? One kid per year?

Or abstinence?

Condoms?

can be a part of the game ...

but, now.... it's me....

my advices in that sector are not really, well, useful ?

Don't worry Nil, according to the World Health Organization, if you do it "nature's way" and breastfeed you'll only have a baby every two to three years. That's not so bad, is it?

The thing with condoms is that for a married couple who had the kids and want some freedom in the bedroom, it is great to not used them anymore.... Especially when knowing the difference with and without....

I also don't want to have the ''if'' somewhere in the back of my head as ''if'' the condom breaks or ''if'' something else.... That make me think that Oh God! I might be pregnant again.... No thank you! Been there, done that, won't do it again!

Hi Nil,

My Hubby had a vasectomy done after our second child. We both decided we didn't want anymore children and it was his suggestion that he have a vasectomy. It was done here but it wasn't covered by our insurance it was around 600chf, it was very quick i dropped him off at 2pm and picked him up at 5.30pm. He was back in work after 2 days (albeit abit sore). That was 4 years ago and hes never had any problems

Oups! I am already screwing up with the nature!

Hahaha....ok. My friend believed it and ended up with 3 under 4, nursing all the way though. But they did have some kinky fun in that bedroom.

I know lots of guys who have had vascetomies, husbands of good friends, and they've not had many complaints. Not that it means anything since guys are not always forthcoming with symptoms.

I don't know any women with tubal ligation, but it means that in most of the couples I know, the guy decided to be "snipped" because it was the less invasive procedure. Maybe the women were insistent. Whether that's right or wrong, it's up to each couple to judge.

I've heard lots of women complain about the IUD, although I know that they have improved the technology of late. The diaphragm has always been the least risky method (although if not used properly it does have more chance for failure), and it's not very spontaneous, and neither is it a graceful device to insert or remove.

I have friends who are peri-menopausal - near menopause, so forties mostly. They use diaphragms and end up with lots of urinary track infections. As you get closer to menopause, the hormonal decrease thins the skin in your vagina and makes you more suceptible to UTIs, which are totally awful. So something else to consider. Also if you don't take the diaphragm out after a while, you're also at risk of UTI.

It's really up to each couple.

yes, men use condoms, but women use the pill, diaphragm, IUD and they have the kid. In a long term stable relationship, it does seem that vascetomy is the least invasive procedure. But it has its risks.

I'm sure there is probably is the whole procedure on youTube for Mr Nil to watch...

On second thoughts maybe not........

Funny! We were talking about it and he is very open about it. But he had to do his man thing.... But...but it will hurt!

2 mm scar (if!) against 5 cm plus an other 10 cm scar for me.

1 day or two at home complaining (it is a man!) against 18 months in total of pregnancies and deliveries and recoveries....

IUDs normally don't involve hormones (though there may be versions that do).

Tom

No, they (vasectomies) are not, but tubal ligations after giving birth are.

Tom

If you've got private health care they'll cover up to 80% (i think that was the figure) of the cost of a vasectomy...

If you've just got basic health cover then it's not covered...

but 800chf is a shed load cheaper than a 3rd (or more) kid!

For some it hurts for a couple of days for others a bit/lot longer...

Yes, but with a 2k deductable, they don't .

Tom

I guess depends on your insurance cover...

now I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to think of some way to make a pun about better a 2K deductable than 2 deducted...
