I'm looking at the Turmix Nespresso U machine as a way to cash out some of my Miles and More points (there's not a lot of things I want in there store, but my old Nespresso machine has sprung a leak). Thing is, I can't tell if it makes a full American-style cup of coffee, or if I can only make espresso shots.
Anyone own the U that can provide a little insight?
I prefer to call an Espresso what they call "Ristretto" around here (really small strong shot), but what this machine makes is way more of an Espresso than American Coffee:
BUT I have a plain Espresso Turmix (non-U) and only realised after several months that you can do the following:
- Fit a relatively large cup underneath
- Hold down the button all the way until the cup is filled
- There is your large coffee!
The machine "remembers" this and does the same size coffee at a single push next time. But the taste is very different from what I drank in the U.S. at restaurants (the coffee that is poured from those big pots).
