Hi all! Can anyone suggest a simple but good and nice Swiss restaurant in Interlaken West? We are meeting some Asian friends of ours there but don't know the area well
It’s not technically Interlaken West but it is just a short walk away in Unterseen.
We really liked the Bären in Unterseen
Yep I have the same Google skills but the top 10 are mostly Indian and Asian - not what I am looking for
This is the one we go to quite often. It is 5 minutes or so on foot from the railway station and it has a traditional menu including Rösti, Fondu etc.
If you are flexible: Restaurant Luegibrüggli half way up to Beatenberg.

You can sort by Swiss. Which is what I did. So take one more step.... :-)
I rarely use Trip Advisor anymore. Almost never get what I’m looking for, just what they want me to see.

I use them. I write reviews when I visit places too.
I find them extremely helpful and with a bit of discretion - pretty accurate too.
The only ones I ignore are restaurant reviews by Swiss people (on the German side). They generally have a completely different outlook on food and restaurants than I do.
Michelin local inspector reviews are a waste of time too for the same reason.
The Stadthaus in Unterseen https://restaurantstadthaus.ch/ is our favourite, less than 10 minutes walk from IW, but the Barenhaus is about as ‘Swiss’ as it comes around here.
Thank you - we went to the Bären and was spot on! Really kind servers also and the food was nice!
