Hi I would need some help here. Thank you in advance.
I ordered a U-Abo card online a week ago. Still I have not received anything by email or post. I work and live in Basel (with a Swiss C permit) four days a week and would need to buy a monthly ticket. I was advised that I needed proof of residing in Basel. Could anyone tell me where to go and what documents to prepare? Many thanks for any tips and help. Waso
Thanks, I did go to Barfüsserplatz trying to buy a monthly ticket for 73 CHF instead of 98 but was asked to have resident proof from police. I totally got lost now. Any help?
When I brought my first monthly tram pass, it was 98 as I hadn't yet registered with the Gemeinde, but when I got my B permit, I just took it in, they made a copy of it, and then I paid 73, and get a bill each month which I then pay for the next month....
If you showed them your C permit, I have no idea why they wouldn't accept that. It has your address on, no??
I don't have a C permit, but if it were me, I would bring a passport, a current permit, a housing contract, and perhaps a work contract if you have one.
Has anyone actually managed to use the u-abo card at the machine to obtain a month pass? I cannot see the option anywhere. I went to barfusserplatz to obtain my card so I assume I have been registered.
You need to press 'more options' or sth like that on the main screen. Then you choose u-abo, hold your card against the sensor in the machine, pay and get a ticket.
I think that the only option might be a maestro (or similar) card, because once you use the sensor the message on the screen says to follow the instructions on card terminal.
