I am looking for someone who could help with my work/tax situation.
I have worked in CH for 7yrs, employed by a swiss resident. I am now going to be working for a UK company and will work only 2-3 weeks a year in CH.
At the moment I have UK & CH residency (B permit) but, going forward, I will only be registered in the UK. On the days I work in CH, do I have to register? Pay tax? Or do I just come and go as I will be paying tax in the UK.
Hi, it would now be a case of my UK employer sending me to CH to do some work for a family based here. We would invoice the family for days worked.
Hello, I have full settled status in the UK, but EU passport holder.
Hello, no, I won’t be a resident or permit holder anymore. I will be employed in th UK and be sent here to carry out some work for a private family. My UK employer will then invoice the CH family for any work done.
This is very complicated. You don't say where your contract is based and where your tax residency is/will be (or I missed it).
Assuming both are UK - definitely taxable and NICable in the UK.
Swiss business work days - probably taxable (and maybe AHV) in CH. Possibly double tax relief due.
Quite honestly, you shouldn't have to ask these questions.
Your employer should pay for advice for you as they are responsible for ensuring your tax/social security is correctly deducted and paid across. They may have considerations around permanent establishments and overseas tax liaiblities to consider as well as immigration considerations etc. You may also have to file a tax return in CH so you can get DT relief.
Politely tell 'em to get professional advice and send it back over the fence to them!
