Unmanned intersection --> circle thing on the ground

Hi all,

So out of curiosity, because I have seen a lot of these in residential ares, where usually the speed limit is 20/30 kph --> when you approach a small intersection there is a circle "bump" on the road --> initially my mind would say that it is a round abound, but off course it is to small and there are no signs related to this.

So what is the idea behind them, to go as much on the exterior of the circle as possible ? --> because in some situations that is not possible

And might someone have a link to what the rules should be ?

I found a blog post about them.

So it’s not a roundabout and you should give way to traffic from the right like other similar junctions.

It’s designed to confuse and slow down people in their cars. It’s basically a circular speed-hump.
