Has anyone noticed that calling 0800 66 88 66 at UPC for support, that English is no longer offered
I realise that I can post messages on FaceBook in English, but then they suggest calling the above number
I became aware of the above, after experiencing problems.
I've been with UPC for 11+yrs with a trouble free service, but then recently I lose Internet connection and after contacting them via FaceBook, I'm told to do a hard reset, wait 10 mins and try again.
This solves the problem for a few days and then the problem occurs again.
Choose German from the menu, as always the German support staff speak perfect English, which can not be said for the French support
I would be a bit embarrassed if I would post this after living here for at least 13 years
To prefer support in English is completely reasonable from a company like UPC.
It does seem that the fastest way to get a problem resolved is posting on Facebook.
They are also on Twitter...
you need a REAL swiss boy/girlfriend or at least a german one.
I had an issue with losing internet connection with UPC and it turned out to be that somewhere in my forest of devices one of them decided to opt for a different IP address to the one that actually works. This shows up as "Connected, no Internet" in your WiFi connection list.
I was able to resolve this by going into DOS and renewing the lease of the IP configuration. This was only found out after a lot of Googling from my side and finally getting a more advanced customer support person on the approximately fifth try of resolving the issue. It now happens again periodically but nobody was able to ascertain what causes it.
Apologies for imprecise language, I am not an IT person, just a "if you Google it, you find the answer eventually" person.
