i have a friend from germany, he is currently searching for an apartment but without success, and the arbeitsamt (something like that) ask him to provide an address latest 1st of April, but for sure he is not going to find an apartment in such short time, so can i help my friend to give him my address temporary and accomodate him until he find his own apartment? and do i need to report this to my house owner(a company) to get their approval?
thanks and regards
angelina
He can, but depends upon :-
1 - the bureau should allow the registration. In some cases the main occupant has to given a written letter requesting the registration for some months. In one case(as i know) they allowed for 3 months.
2 - The land lord/renting agency of the flat should allow the registration of an additional person. I know one case where the rental agency objected to the additional registration and advised the original tenant not to do it again.
wish u luck !!
I know people who have done this. Their landlord didn't have a problem with it. As I understand it, you do need to inform the landlord, and your friend's name will need to be on the post box.
I also know people who've done this successfully, without informing the landlord.
you r right but if you do without the knowledge of the land lord and he comes to know about it later then he may create some legal problems of the tenant..
thanks a lot for your advice, in fact the situation is kind of complicated, its better to inform the landlord (specially in switzerland), i ask this info just for him, he has more friends so he might be able to register there for some time unless he really has bad luck, i will try to help.
but i might need a roommate myself since the rent become too high for us since both of us lost our job, i also dont want to lose a chance to find a flatmate
life is so hard....
Indeed. To clarify - it's not a course I'd recommend.
OP - hope you find a job soon.
