I have 3 Slingboxes, Each with there own dedicated Verizon Fios deck. (Dedicated means No TV so no one changes your channels) I subscribe to every package Verizon Fios offers including all HD packages, but no international addons. I do have everything else. Since i subscribe to everything all ON DEMANDS are available and are free. (this is not ppv) My locals are Dallas, Texas. These Boxes are on a fiber optic connection with 75mb download / 15mb upload, so you should have no problem watching the slingbox. A total of 654 channels!
here is a complete list of Verizon Fios channel lineup:
I am not looking for subscribers to pay me... i am looking for people to exchange slingbox info with. I am missing Swiss television. let me know if you are interested.
So you want someone who has a slingbox here to give you their slingbox's information in exchange for your slingbox's information? I know I am not an expert in these slingboxes, but I MISS american television and would love to have it (even if I pay every month)... And for the record, no, I don't have a slingbox at the moment (but may be tempted to get one)...
i actually have four... but one is for personal use. I have three so i can exchange with people like yourself's. Since only one person can be logged in at a time... i have multiple available just in case.
yea yea i know... it will help me catch up on my swiss german
Kiwiguy08... you would need a slingbox and a descent internet connection. the slingbox classic (the original slingbox that came out in 2005) they sell used on ebay or Amazon.com for 50 USD
By the way... If any of you have a blackberry, an iPhone, windows mobile, or android mobile phone. If you get a slingbox you can log into it via your mobile phone and control & watch your cable/satellite box. They tell you that your mobile phone needs a 3G connection to stream... But that's not true. It works fine via the old EDGE technology
too. So you would be able to log into your cable/ sat box anywhere. Also there is slingplayer software for windows and mac to watch it on your pc or laptop. And a thing called a slingcatcher that you can get that allows you to watch a slingbox anywhere without a pc... It connects directly to your tv.
The slingmedia player sold via iTunes for the iPhone in Switzerland requires a wireless connection it does not work over 3G. Good luck with finding a swiss box.
Not true... The app may come that way. But there is three ways around this. If you have a jailbroken iPhone you can use either "3G unrestrictor" or "My3g". These apps will trick the iPhone into thinking you are on a wifi connection... When you are really on 3G. If you do not want to jailbreak your iPhone there is a new patch that works through iTunes. iTunes thinks it's doing a carrier update but is really patching the file it looks ti see if you are on wifi.
Blackberry... Windows mobile phones... And android phones do not have 3G restrictions. The slingplayer for these phones will work without other software or a patch.
I called Verizon today and updated my Package. I now have EPIX HD which is an On Demand Service that gives you 150 to 300 HD Movies before they are released to cable, EPIX also has a few HD TV channels to watch too.
they also turned on 30 new HD channels which i now get... but I have not yet looked to see what they are... i will update with a list later.
Also, my internet speeds were upgraded majorly today. I now have 75 mbs down and 75 mbs up. (before i had 75 down and 15 up) Which means I should be able to Stream HD perfectly. This weekend i will purchase 2 more Slingbox Pro HD's. With these speeds you should be able to enjoy my HD channels perfectly.
here are 2 open slings in the usa that are avilable just for the super bowl. if you want to watch the american commercials that are 2.5 million per 30 secs.
remember only one can log in at a time. so good luck. these are not my boxes but a friends. like i said its just for tonight.
I have a slingbox connected to Swisscom TV Plus (including the 5 Canal+ Channel).
Unfortunately I have some issue when my TV his power on (HDMI error message) and as it's on my primary box, it may use by my family to watch TV. Upload his 1Mb (maximum at Swisscom )
If you want I'm willing to test a exchange, if I found it good I may ask Swisscom for a aditional receiver to avoid the issue of HDMI and usage.
I am looking for a swisscom slingbox, but I am open to other exchanges too.
I have Verizon Fios HD DVR with all channels and all on demand channels, even the premium ones. I do not subscribe to international add ons. Also I have directv with the package just above basic. I only have it for the NFL Ticket to watch every American football game. Both of these are on a Pro HD. My Internet speed is 75 Mbps down and 75mbps up.
I also have a sling classic with Verizon Fios hd as well.
Just to let you know I am currently adding another slingbox with a movie server that has all films that are currently in American theatres/cinemas. I update it each week. It also has a netflix account. I should have it back online soon. Please pm me if interested.
