I am looking for a sports store any place that could have some second hand skis for a beginning adult and a toddler. Do any of you have a recommendation?

Dosenbach has good skis at reduced prices. Good enough for beginners anyways.
Check online which store has them in stock before you go, not all of them have beginner Skis.
For children, we rented from Athleticum / Migros SportX, well kept equipment.

Depends on the age of the child but the secondhand children’s shops usually resell skis, boots, ski clothes. You can find their locations with a Google search. Also the Bröckis can offer both adult & children’s skis (if you know what you are looking for), saw quite a few in the Heilsarmee in Wetzikon before Christmas.
Probably cheaper to hire. Especially for the kid. My wife and I bought our first skis only when we'd been skiing 2 years already. We didn't buy the kids' skis until they'd stopped growing.
