Anyone got any recommendations? We're moving at the end of September (to a new flat approx. 600m away), so could use some recommendations for reasonably priced van hire. We don't necessarily need a moving company as such as I'm used to driving larger vehicles myself, but any ideas are welcome. We're in Kreis 7, Zürich.
600m is miles, or metres?
The van rental prices are quite standard. Let's say 120chf per day. You may save money by:
- renting the ikea van, should be around 80 chf per day and when you move you always need something from IKEA ... ;
- checking the car-sharing site https://de.2em.ch/autovermietung/zue...d-transit-3427 (unfortunately sharoo is not existing anymore, there were some very good deal there);
- checking private ads, on tutti.ch or anibis.ch (just an idea, I do not know if there are offers).
What is worthwhile is looking for help on carrying stuff up/down the stairs. I always "hired" friends, then one time I called someone that was offering this service for money (more or less officially) and I was impressed by how quick they were. Ok, my friend circle is a bit a nerds' circle, so it may be not representative.
Please note that reserving the blue zone directly in front of the door is very convenient, but it must be booked in advance and it will cost something like 100chf for the first day and then 20 francs each additional day (approx. values).

We used these guys, pretty cheap and everything went smoothly. Based near Dübendorf/Dietlikon way.
