She is great and I love her recipes:
Manjula started her cooking 'show' in her very simple kitchen - but now has got so many followers, she's got a new one, and dresses much posher than she used to she also has a 'gluten free' section.
I have found recipes in the 'Gujarati' section at www.indianrecipevideo.com very accurate, in the sense that the taste is very genuine and not at all 'westernised'. Most recipes are without meat / beef / fish / eggs, however now is perhaps not a good time to use the 'v word' on EF
Also www.aayisrecipes.com is very genuine 'south Indian'. Her trick for making idly batter rise is fantastic!
Thanks for those 2 sites- have bookmarked them and try some recipes asap.
sva are you a good Indian cook? How about organising an Indian cooking workshop here - I'll provide the venue - and you could charge the others?
vahrehvah.com his videos are nice.I feel envious when he tastes the delicacies in the end mouth watering
Another one is www.showmethecurry.com . However both these sites are more 'westernized' versions of the original recipes. I prefer to keep the original Indian flavor though at times it takes more efforts
Edit: This site is not only for vegetarian recipes!
awesome thread.
I've been on a quest to find a recipe for the perfect tarka daal..
I've tried many, but they never taste like the ones you get in London at the Indian restaurants. I'm wondering if there is a secret how to get this special oily texture and flavour
Usually the tarka (heated ghee or oil/butter with spices etc) is poured over the finished dish just before serving.
even this website is good for indian veg recipes
I was wondering that even though it is not vegetarian, maybe someone had a good recipe for lamb biryani? it is my alltime favourite indian food.
Also, where to get the spices for that?
spices would b available in any Indian shop. There are quite good ones in Zurich..
yes but as my info says, I'm in Neuchatel
Angela...sorry off topic,I had in mind your location was basel...
