All this talk about pumpkins and what to do with the buggers made me hungry.
So tonight ́s Slammersupper was venison and pumpkin/apple/cranberry and walnut pie.
Sadly the camera went on the fritz giving me pix beyond the grace of PhotoShop.
Gave it a bash though.
And it was NOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
Slammer, that looks like a casserole dish rather than a "pie plate"... is it? The reason I ask is to get to question #2 which is: do you use a bottom crust with that or just the top?

Yes it is a casserole dish but I am not fussy, had too much filling for the pie dish, and yup there is a bottom crust almost a centimeter thick.
The pastry crackled like cornflakes when I bit into it, Slammer is getting the hang of pastry these days
